In the aftermath of the the World Cup of women's in Pattaya, President Azéma travelled to Jakarta (Indonesia) where he was joined by Victor Nataf, to ensure training respectively of arbitrators and educators at the request of the federation of Indonesia, FOBI: Federation Olahraga Petanque Indonesia
Indeed it has been created in the spring of 2011 to allow the participation of players and Indonesian players equalizations games (the Southeast Asian Games), multi-sport games in which the Petanque occupies a place of choice - 8 to 11 medals! (To compare the two medals of the Mediterranean Games!) -for a decade thanks to the remarkable work done by the Federation of Thailand and the Confederation of Asia.
The President has seen the excellent implementation of this Federation already recognized and assisted by the CONI - national Committee of Indonesian sports – whose members received him upon his arrival, and the fact that it enjoyed the support of sponsors such as the Total Group and the National Institute of welding led by an Indonesian who made his career in France, notably at the French oil Institute. These have also supported fully the displacement of two French executives as well as their living expenses.
After three days of training and exercises on the ground as part of a magnificent sports complex, evaluation tests were performed for 26 educators candidates and 23 candidates referees.
They will be the first frameworks in a country which has nearly 270 million inhabitants on a group of Islands nearly four times the size of the France and where Petanque seems to have a bright future. There will be particular organized Championship of Asia in November.
The President commended the remarkable organization of these courses conducted in English, where trainers have benefited from all materials which they have need, as well as the assistance of three expatriates love of petanque and already hosts of clubs, which have ensured the Indonesian translation needed, even if the vast majority of trainees perfectly understood English including two Filipinos and two Brunei citizens sent by their federations.
Radio France International covered the event and exchanges also took place with local leaders about the structuring of the Federation and the continuation of this cooperation in the years to come. Still an excellent operation for the development of Petanque and the French presence in Asia.

Venue: Hanoi Sports Training & Competition Center
Events: 9 events (7 events for Senior, 2 events for Junior)
- Men: Triples, Shooting, Double
- Women: Triples, Shooting, Double
- Mix Double
- Junior: Triples, Shooting (not more than 17 years old at the venue’s date)
Participants: The members could entry the events by 1 team/ event.
Note:
- Triples events: the defending Champion team and host country could send 2 team/event
- Double events: Only host country could send 2 team/event
Hospitality:
- Transportation: will be provided for all teams from Airport to Hotel and to the venue in case the teams inform in advance.
- The organizing Committee will be responsible for the accommodations from dinner 11th to breakfast 17th (17 meals) for 12 players and 3 delegates/ country
Note: in case the member’s countries enter one event, the accommodation will be providing for only 4 players and 1 delegate.
- The package of 6 nights including 17 meals and transportation is 200 USD per person in double room and 300 USD per person in single room.
All entry form must be received before the 9th November 2012
Confederations Cup
TANA Madagascar April 14 to 17
One of the important missions of the Federation of Malagasy petanque chaired by Gerard Nature this season will be organizing the first edition of the Confederations Cup on Malagasy soil, one of the biggest international events of the discipline bringing together the top eight nations from five continents . This global competition scheduled to take place in late November 2011 but postponed due to lack of financial means, the support of the state, will always stand in the Madagascan capital, but finally the 14 to 17 April 2012 to Tana.
The Malagasy petanque federation made its general meeting on January 21 in the presence of nine of the 11 existing leagues, both absent and excused are Analamanga and Analanjirofo. Team Natural Gerard got 100% on discharge. Decided at this GA, the number of participating teams from Madagascar in threesome man is now limited to 96. Topping the list of the ten African countries qualified for the World Championship in triple man to be held in Marseille France from 2-7 October, Madagascar African champion title will surely be part of.
About elective general assemblies of earnest leaders of the discipline at the end of the Olympic mandate, the FMP established a timetable for the election will be as follows, those of sections 27 and 28 October, those leagues 10 and 11 November and that of the Federation on 24 and 25 November, all of this year. Some leagues have requested, at the AGM, the creation of new sections as Boeny Vakinakaratra and Itasy.
Brief review, positive in 2011, Madagascar retains its title as African champions in men triple gold medalist in doublet and triplet quarter-finalist in the World Games for children in Turkey, a semifinalist at the Masters and France especially Cicine won the gold medal contest of marksmanship in the world championship ladies in Turkey.

A sad news
Death of Mr. Robert Pierre
The FIPJP you communicate with great sadness the death of Mr. Robert Pierre President of the Pan American Confederation of Petanque that has just passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011. Robert suffered from cancer for several years, these days the rapid development of the disease had forced hospitalization. American, he has lived on the French Riviera this past year for reasons of health and near her two children. Know that we lost a good player and a true defender of the competition Petanque and many believed the development of our sport in America. Sincere condolences with all its family and her close relations.
FPUSA remembers Robert Pierre, who passed away this week in France. Robert was a longtime member of FPUSA and served as our delegate to the FIPJP Congress at the 2008 World Championship in Dakar, Senegal. Robert also served as our International Events Coordinator for a number of years, arranging for US players to be hosted at various competitions abroad. Most recently he held the post of President of the Pan American Petanque Confederation's Executive Committee. On behalf of our members, FPUSA extends sympathy and well wishes to Robert's family. At the end of this competition which saw the victory of Cambodia, the Asian Confederation has announced the names of seven Asian nations qualified for the next World Championships to be held in Marseille from 4 to 7 October 2012. For example, Cambodia, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam join the table already very promising upcoming World Championships.

We would like to inform you that the 14th Asian Petanque Championship will be organized at Vientiane, Laos during 5-8 December 2010.
The organizing committee has informed that there will be 4 events which are: Men and Women Triple, and Men and Women Shooting, the members could entry the events by sending 1 teams per event. The organizing committee will be responsible for the accommodations from Dinner 4th to breakfast 8th December 2010 (11 meals) for 8 players and 2 delegates/country. The transportation will be provided for all teams from airport to the hotel and to the venue in case that the teams inform in advance. The official hotel is Sabaidee@lao.com Hotel, The package of 4 nights including 11 meals and transportation is 140 USD per person. All entry forms must be received before 25th November 2010 (download form).
I would like to take this opportunity to inform you about the annual meeting of the APSBC which will be held on the 4th December 2010 follow by the manager meeting at 18.00 pm . The venue of the meeting is Lao Plaza Hotel.

New World Champion and New World Record of shooting!

The first medal of the 45th World Championships 2010 was gained by France. Bruno Leboursicaud gained the World Championship of Shooting by beating the Polynesian Jean Manéa. In the eliminatory shootings, Charles "Claudy" Weibel (Belgium) beat the world records of shooting (officially validated by the FIPJP) with 66 points.
